Our staff is experienced in design and manufacturing of composite materials. We can assist you during all steps in your product development , with engineering and design of products and processes , prototype manufacturing and testing - from idea to complete prototype. We have software and equipment for design, stress analysis, process simulation, characterisation of materials, mechanical testing and prototyping.
 
Process simulation

Process simulation
Process simulation is a powerful tool for process development, process optimisation and trouble shooting. We can perform process simulation of various processing methods, primarily RTM, Vacuum infusion, Filament winding, Prepreg manufacturing and Compression moulding. For eg RTM we can perform flow simulation, cure simulation and simulation of residual stresses and process induced shape distor tions. For more detailed information, please contact us.

Mechanical testing

Mechanical testing
We can perform static and dynamic testing of coupons and complete structures in our lab oratory . Coupon testing is often used as input for design data. Structural testing is normally conducted for verification of prototypes. We can do testing according to standards or custom testing with maximum loads of ±120 kN.

As a service we also provide manufacturing of material specimens according to customer needs.

Liquid Composite Moulding (LCM) Liquid Composite Moulding (LCM)
LCM is a closed, environmentally friendly manufacturing technology that gives excellent properties, good repeatability and uniform quality. We can assist you with process design, material selection, process development, technology implementation and training of personnel according to your needs.
Filament winding

Filament winding
Our machine is a computer controlled Joseph Baer. Maximum dimensions - length 1000 mm and diameter 400 mm.

We can perform experimental work and prototyping of both thermoset and thermoplastic materials.

Compression moulding

Compression moulding
Our equipment is a Fjellman press with maximum force of 310 tons with a table size of 1200 x 1000 mm. It can be used for both thermoset (SMC) and thermoplastic (GMT) materials. The press features variable closing speed and active parallel control.

For processing of thermoplastic composites we use a combined IR and convection oven with temperature up to 450 C and inner dimensions of 750 x 750 mm.

Cutting machine

Cutting machine
For cutting reinforcement such as carbon, glass and aramid we have a fully computer controlled Gerber GTxL cutting machine. Maximum width is 1700 mm, maximum length depends on the reinforcement – up to 10 meters is no problem. The maximum cutting speed is 30 meters/minute. Cutting data can be generated either from CAD-files or from existing templates via a digitizer.

Extrusion

Extrusion
We have a Krupp Werner&Pfleiderer ZSK 25 WLE double screw extruder, mostly used for compounding natural fibre composites. In addition we also have a granulator and an injection moulding machine (Engel CC80) for manufacturing of test specimens.
